Doublestar Carlson Mini Comp Muzzle Brake

I chose this brake for a 16” barrel AR that I built to be both fully equipped and as short and wieldy as legally possible. This device was the obvious choice for the shorter oal compared to other devices. When timed correctly using maximum threads it is only adds about an inch to your barrel. Timing is not the easiest like some multi-position devices, as this only has one usable position like the standard A2. Definitely doable if you are careful though. It seems to be simple, sturdy, and to have a decent finish. I think it’s aesthetically pleasing on the rifle compared to other options as well as a bonus. Functionality will be hard to comment on as i will not have fired the rifle without this on it and is not a standard .223/5.56.

I wanted to keep the overall length of my AR9 pistol build as short as possible, this brake was the perfect option. I was hesitant due to the brand at first but was very pleased with the fit, and performance. Fit and finish are great, and it functions as intended! As mentioned, I used for an AR9 build so this would also be a fit for most rifle caliber builds, though I cannot speak to how it would function with the additional powder burn from a rifle caliber pistol, or other short barrel build.
